OBLIVION NICKYP When you’re blessed with a determined mind, a passionate heart and the right talent pushing your goals forward, you’re not far from becoming a tour de force. That’s exactly what the masterplan of New York's DJ/producer NICKYP involves. Steadily climbing the EDM’s scene ladder of success, he looks back on some heavily supported releases, including the mighty ‘Utopia’, ‘Passion’, ‘Impulse’ and bootlegs for Fedde le Grand and Paris & Simo. His sound getting more inventive with each studio session, you’ll find it no surprise that his latest killer, ‘Oblivion’, sets the tone for today’s groove. As the follow-up to ‘Interstellar’, supported by the likes of Sick Individuals, Justin Prime, Ummet Ozcan and M.I.K.E., Oblivion’ is a slight return to NICKYP’s roots in electro house. But apart from a growling bassline, sturdy build-up and catchy melody, there’s something else making this a stand-out track. An open-minded break, carrying a peaceful Native American flute, is what truly makes ‘Oblivion’ unique. Another biggie from that New York guy.
